When it comes time to vote in the next election, what will be the deciding factors for you?

1 - Plan for ending our military involvement in Iraq
2 - Position on our current system of taxation
3 - Position on civil liberties (e.g., Patriot Act)

What will cause you to vote for someone (or their party)?

The person’s answers (or lack thereof) to the first question.

    What will rule them out?

1 - Support troop escalation in Iraq
2 - Against abortion in almost all circumstances

Are there any past or present governmental leaders you particularly admire and if so, who and why?

I did not like Jimmy Carter as a president - my age at the time had something to do with it, but I have a great deal of admiration for many things he has tried to do post-his presidency.

I admire my former PA Congressman Gary Myers. He was elected in 1974 and retired in 1978 at the age of 41. He understood the original concept of ordinary people serving the public, and returned to civilian life. It seems all we have our “Congresspeople for Life” now.
