I got an e-mail from up/rooted North this week that NT Wright is giving two lectures at Mundelein College tomorrow.
NT Wright is well-liked by the emerging Church; I actually heard of him before the emerging Church existed, ten years ago. At that time no-one else seemed to know who he was so it’s interesting his name is so much better known these days by American Christians. I’ve been reading his books for ten years and have appreciated a lot of what he says. He was one of my favorite Christian authors until my own beliefs changed – maybe the favorite, in fact.
This is the first opportunity I’ve had to go hear him speak – and it’s even free (registration is required, though) – so I figured I may as well, in spite of my change in beliefs.

3Thanks Rachel. I realized that if I go I need to take good notes! (I hope it won’t be like his books I have that I don’t understand)
Paul, yes, free is cool – and it even includes free lunch!
(See, it’s not true there’s no such thing as a free lunch… ;-))

6Live update from during the Q&A at the end of the first lecture: wow, he is an AWESOME speaker. I love listening to him.
He’s funny too – he just said in answer to a question “I’m having to pull back the lecture that’s threatening to come out”.

9Helen,
I posted my notes from the lecture on my site. I’m sure I left out a bunch of important stuff.
