The Mom Salary Wizard and Dad Salary Wizard estimate what you’d be paid if you received a salary for your job as a parent.
It takes into account whether you’re a parent who also has a job outside the home. You can customize the hours you spend on each typical parenting task if you want to get that detailed.

1That’s funny. It said I should be earning $150,000 a year. Whatever. Add that to what I make doing all my other work ($0) Then there’s the weekly suggestions that pastors should be paid because they just shouldn’t… I love how according to the majority in this world we shouldn’t be earning anything for what we do.

2Julie, I agree with “whatever” since no-one is handing out $150,000 to parents. Anyway I was pleased to see a site implicitly saying ‘what parents do is worth a lot‘. Sometimes it can seem like a thankless task.
About pastors, did you say people comment weekly that you shouldn’t be paid? What does that mean – that the role of pastor is the same as taking care of little kids? ;-)

3From the christians – That being a pastor is something we do to serve others/God. We shouldn’t be paid for doing ministry, but just serve God out of the goodness of our hearts. And that it is wrong to see getting paid as a Pastor as a salary, but each check should be a gift from God not related to hours worked or duties performed…
From atheists – if all we do is spread lies and try to get people to follow a false idea we shouldn’t get paid.
Both sides – we need to get a “real job” and save this church hobby/service thing for our spare time. The atheists say its a club that should only be a hobby. And the Christians a service that should be volunteered. Because what is a 60+ hour a week job for most pastors should be done only in addition to a regular “real” full time job. And if we are too selfish to do that and put our family before the ministry (God) we just aren’t good Christians.
Or some version of that gets stated to us almost weekly from one person or another…

4I’m sorry to hear that people make those comments, Julie. I for one very much appreciate the work that clergypeople do and I believe that they should be paid.

5Julie, I’m sorry too. Sometimes life just seems like a exercise in being misunderstood…

6As a Christian, God’s word IS the inerrant word of God for me. Scripture clearly says to pay those who teach you the word of God and that they should be compensated for the great service they are providing. I appriciate my pastor and want him to have his salary of course, but we have also treated him and his wife to restaurant gift certificates and other tokens of our appriciation for this couple. God has so blessed us with them!
