I arrived in the afternoon and had fun meeting people and seeing people again I met last year all afternoon and evening - too many people to list right now…all awesome people. I’m a ‘concierge’ so I was issued my (on loan) Off The Map apron to wear and I get to help people out if they have questions or the opportunity to help arises.
Last night was a lot of fun as Jim brought lots of people on stage to share briefly, with interludes by Byword, the band. Things happened that Jim didn’t even know were going to happen, like Xianhang (leader of an atheist group at the University of Washington) sharing about the Flying Spaghetti Monster, Sadell breaking out into a song about freedom before she introduced herself, Michelle sharing with great passion about how Compassion International gave her hope and a future when she was growing up in the Philippines in poverty and Richard (that’s only his ‘colonial oppressor’ name) letting us know that “when the chips are down, the buffalo is empty”.
Jim enjoys when unexpected things happen so he was loving it.
