Wow, I just watched this. If I’d seen it yesterday I would have posted it as the Friday Video.

Strong! That’s actually how I feel about it, too. Even though there are Bible-verses against homosexuality. But this faith is my faith, and probably gay people have another. And I don’t have a right to force my faith on others. God made man with a free will, so man’s love for Him should be real and deep. So probably God doesn’t like that we take away from people this free will He has given to them.

I’m gay, and my faith is probably pretty close to your faith. There are Bible verses against many things. I try to follow the first & greatest commandment above all.

I thought it was awesome for Keith Olbermann to say this.

I am new to this site after reading Jim and Casper go to church. What a great book!!!!! I have spent a few hours reading a number of blogs on the site and really enjoyed all I have read so far.
Maybe this is my weird sense of humor but after watching that I am trying to imagine what Mark Driscoll would think. (:

May I add that I was deeply moved by this compeling video and found myself asking myself, “Where is my voice in this”? Thankyou for posting this video.

Unfortunately, Keith O may only be preaching to the converted. The far right has painted him as one of the most strident voices of the left fringe. I agree with his stance on this and am grateful to hear him voice his thoughts and sentiments. But I would love to hear someone from near the middle say these things publicly.

One of my neighbors is gay. Having a longtime relationship they were finally allowed to be registered as a couple (that’s not being married, because marriage would touch on more questions like adoption of children and so on. But it allows the couple to live as a couple, visit each other in an emergency in hospital and it clears heritage questions as if they were married.) So soon after they were registered their relationship broke. You could see the hurt in our neighbors eyes and behaviour. In a hurting situation as this, what Jesus would you trust more?

The one who says, “I told you so! You didn’t keep to my rules! I let this happen to you to change your mind. Now you behave and be a good girl and then, in time, you’ll see the benefits.”

Or the one who takes you in His arms and says, “I’m not mad at you! I love you and I know how much you hurt. I know how much you miss her. Let me comfort you. Here you are sure, here you can mourn and weep. Let me see your wounded heart so I can heal it. You are precious to me! Please let me help you.”

I mean, it’s all about love, not laws. Of course there are Biblical principles. And if you follow them, you are blessed. But I’m sure it’s a matter of heart, not a matter of outward obedience. Doesn’t the Bible say that Jesus looks at the heart? And doesn’t the Bible say that we are not to judge?

I don’t know what Keith Olbermann’s religious identification is now, but he was raised Unitarian. I love his outraged liberalism, and found this to be the most moving of his clips that I’ve ever seen – and I was a Keith Olbermann-Rachel Maddow junkie during the 6 weeks before the election.
