Conversation at the Edge will be closing soon

At the end of March Off The Map will be closing the Conversation at the Edge, Justice and Compassion and eBay Atheist blogs to new posts. They’ll stay open a little longer than that for comments.

We appreciate everyone who has blogged for us on these three blogs and participated in the comments conversations. We’ll keep the existing content up even though the blogs are being closed.

The reason for closing them and opening The Practicing Church blog is that Off The Map’s focus has changed. As Jim wrote in From Mirrors to Maps on The Practicing Church blog

As Off The Map enters a new season we’re going to focus less on mirrors and more on maps, less on critiquing the church and more on energizing the church.

I’ll miss the people and the conversations on CatE. Although I do agree that closing CatE makes sense in view of Off The Map’s current focus. I appreciate how you’ve all encouraged and challenged me with your thoughts and comments since CatE opened almost three years ago.

After this blog closes you’ll be able to find me online at my personal blog and on facebook. I’ll also be continuing to help with Off The Map’s web presence.

    I am really sorry that CatE is closing. The concluding “Friday Video” by the “Two Johns” is very fitting and thanks for your acknowledgent to me for introducing them to you. Will you devote a special section of your personal blog for the continuance of your contributions and interaction with your contriburors? Love Dad (Oxford, UK)

    Thanks Dad - I probably won’t dedicate a section of my personal blog to friendly conversation in the way this blog’s goal has been friendly conversation. Although that’s always welcome on my personal blog.

    When I come across something that particularly interests me I’ll either post it there or email it to my family and friends.
